New cedar horizontal privacy fence along a home in Montana

Custom fences, decks, pergolas, and siding.

Built right in south-central Montana. Based in Columbus, serving Yellowstone, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, and Carbon counties.

We Overbuild So You Don't Rebuild

My goal is simple: build you something so solid it works me right out of a job. I’m Jeb Cumin, and I run O&R Decking & Fence out of Columbus, Montana.

I started this company to build the kind of fences and decks I’d want on my own place. Posts set deep, tamped, driven, or sunk in concrete depending on what your soil calls for. Solid framing, and quality that holds for years to come. We work across Yellowstone, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, and Carbon counties, so chances are we’re not far from your spread.

Fences, decks, pergolas, siding. Whatever the project, I’d rather overbuild it once than come back to fix it later.

Why O&R

What you actually get when you hire us.

01

Overbuilt on purpose

Every post is set for the ground it's going in, every fastener spec'd for the climate. The details nobody sees are the ones that matter most. Built past code, not just to it.

02

Deal with me, not the salesman

One number, one person. I run every job from the first walkthrough to the final handshake.

03

Built for Montana

Cedar that handles freeze-thaw. Composite that doesn't buckle in August. I'll recommend the right product for your application and walk you through every option. Your ideas, your design. I'll make it a reality.

04

Fixed-price contracts

You get a written, fixed-price quote before we start. The number you sign is the number you pay, so you're never guessing what the final bill looks like.

What We Build

Siding

Exterior siding installs and replacements.

Materials We Work With

We'll recommend what actually fits the job. Here's what we work with.

Cedar

Beautiful, stable, ages to a soft silver. Our default when looks matter and you want it to last.

Pressure-treated

The workhorse. Affordable, strong, and built to handle ground contact. Great for posts and ranch fence.

Composite

Won't warp, splinter, or need annual stain. Costs more up front, saves you weekends for the next 25 years.

Vinyl

Maintenance-free fencing in white or earth tones. Won't rot or rust. A clean, crisp look that holds up.

Chain link

Practical, secure, and affordable. Great for pasture, kennels, and rural perimeters where utility wins.

Metal & ornamental

Aluminum and wrought iron. Driveway gates, railings, and decorative accents that make a statement.

How We Work

Four steps from your first call to the final walk-through.

  1. 1

    Talk it through

Call me or send the form. Tell me what you want to build, where it's going, and when you'd like it done.

  2. 2

    Quote and schedule

I come out, measure, walk through materials, and send a fixed-price quote. Say go and we lock in a start date.

  3. 3

    Build it

We show up when we said we would, work it start to finish, and leave the site cleaner than we found it.

  4. 4

    Walkthrough

Final walk-through together once it's done. Anything that's not right, I make it right before I call it finished.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions folks ask before they call. If yours isn't here, just call.

What does O&R stand for?

Overbuild & Rebuild. The rebuilds in my schedule are always someone else's first try.

What areas do you serve?

Yellowstone, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, and Carbon counties. That covers Billings, Laurel, Columbus, Big Timber, and Red Lodge, plus the rural country in between. If you're a little outside that, call anyway, I'll let you know.

How long does a typical fence or deck project take?

Every project is different depending on size, materials, and site conditions. Before we start, I'll give you a realistic timeline, not a number pulled out of thin air. Weather and material lead times are part of the conversation up front, so there are no surprises once we're underway.

What materials do you recommend?

Depends on what you want out of it. Cedar is beautiful and ages well. Pressure-treated is the workhorse if budget matters more than looks. Composite decks need almost no maintenance and last forever. We'll talk through it during the on-site quote.

Do you handle permits?

If your project needs one, I'll tell you what's required for your county or city and how to pull it. For most rural and residential fence and deck work out here, permits are minimal, but I don't skip them when they apply.

Do you offer warranties?

Yes. Every build comes with a workmanship warranty. Material warranties vary by product and come from the manufacturer. We walk through both before you sign anything.
